Wheels on the Bus

Activity Day 17: At work we had our “New Construction Bus Tour” and toured three new apartment communities. In the evening I hand delivered invites for the neighborhood pool party in a couple of weeks. A productive day all the way around.

Activity Day 15: Crazy day, so I didn’t get much walking in. Gonna have to make up some miles over the rest of the week.

Beating the Heat

Activity Day 14: It was HOT today (low 90s), so I waited until the evening to do my walk. We seem to have skipped spring and gone straight into summer. My better half came outside to see me off and I caught a shadow pic (see below).

Miles walked/run: 7.37 miles. Here’s the screenshot from my FitBit:

And on the 13th day, he rested

Activity Day 13: After the last week the dogs weren’t just barking, they were howling, so I decided to take it pretty darn easy. Did a little puttering but for the most part, it was a rest and recovery day.

Miles walked/run: 1.72 miles. Here’s the screenshot from my FitBit:

Moving Erin

Activity Day 12: Our daughter needed some help moving into her new apartment, so the day was spent toting stuff out of one apartment, loading cars and unloading at the new place. Luckily, her boyfriend recruited his brothers and one buddy to help so I didn’t have to move much furniture. Overall, one of the easier moves of my extended career as a volunteer mover.

Miles walked/run: 4.76 miles. Here’s the screenshot from my FitBit:

Miles remaining in challenge: 299.3. Woot!Less than 300 left to go.

Dodging Raindrops on the Bicentennial Greenway

Activity Day 11: A nice long walk on the Bicentennial Greenway, from north High Point into Jamestown. There’s a creek that the path crosses over several times and the vast majority of the path is shaded by trees, which makes it a very pleasant walk…even when it rains.

Miles walked/run: 8.2 miles. Here’s the screenshot from my FitBit:

Miles remaining in challenge: 304. Now a few miles ahead of the pace needed to make the goal by July 7.

Recovery and Usefulness

Days 6 of Virtual Walk Around the Triad to Benefit Second Harvest

Activity Day 6: After the 12+ miles on Day 5 the old legs needed a day to recover, so I spent it working around the house and yard. Just doing that I still managed to get a few miles in.

Miles walked/run: 3.07 miles. Here’s the screenshot from my FitBit:

When Life Throws a Curve, Head to the Lake

Days 4&5 of Virtual Walk Around the Triad to Benefit Second Harvest

Activity Day 4: When your better half has an unexpected and kinda scary medical event you don’t do anything but take care of her, so that’s what I did.
Activity Day 5: I was supposed to be in Florida helping my mom pack up her house, but due to the events of Day 4 she recruited someone else. So I made sure my better half was in solid shape and headed to Salem Lake for a walk/run.

Miles walked/run: 12.72 miles. Here’s the screenshot from my FitBit:
