What Percentage of Children in NW North Carolina are Food-Insecure?

Hunger Fact of the Day:

22.8% of children living in Northwest North Carolina are food-insecure (one in every four children). Nationwide, one in every six children lives in a food-insecure household.

Today’s sponsor:

Pit Stops for Hope. I met Ray Wright from Pit Stops for Hope at a Second Harvest Food Bank dinner a couple of years ago and have been amazed at what he and his organization have done to invest in children through their aid to food banks and teachers.

Activity Day 30: Hit the tennis courts for about 75 minutes of pretty good hitting with my buddy Tyler. Felt good to work the kinks out, and with the humidity, I think I lost approximately 250 pounds of water weight.

Miles walked/run: 5.75 miles. Here’s the screenshot from my FitBit:

Miles remaining in challenge: 210.58. I’m still about 6 miles behind the pace I need to make my goal.
