Loving the dining in The Big Easy.

I'm at a conference this week and the keynote speaker today is
President George W. Bush. There won't be a Q & A segment but I was
wondering if you could ask him one question what would it be?

I'm not sure what mine would be. Since we're in New Orleans it would
probably have something to do with Hurricane Katrina, his
administration's response to it, and a comparison to the Obama
administration's response to the oil spill.

Per a reader request here's a shot of the O'so dining room. Unfortunately the request came too late for a food shot. Figure you wouldn't want to see the carnage.

My kids are in Mississippi this week on a mission trip with our church's youth group. My daughter texted this pic with the message "It's so hot here!" If nothing else they've learned that it's hot in Mississippi in June. Go figure!

I spent the day in Raleigh meeting with state Reps and Sens for the day job and I left with a couple of general thoughts.

First, I really love the atmosphere there especially when compared to Capitol Hill. It's wide open and due to the tiny size of most offices you'll find the legislators meeting with their constituents around tables in the central common areas. And unlike the Hill you can just walk into the buildings without feeling like you're going through security at the airport. In short it's a really cool vibe.

Second, for all the reaons described above I have no idea how they actually get anything done.

Third, I'm taking my kids over there so they can see how the sausage is made. It's better than a month's worth of civics classes.
