Don’t know that I’ll do this "Quote of the Day" thing on a regular basis, but if I manage to find something I like on any given day I’ll share it. Today’s comes from Fec:
"Excellence is superfluous in a room full of morons."

Thanks. I must give Yuengling some credit.
Speaking of quotes and an homage to the written word, Jon is in the habit of memorializing his children’s birthdays with words their grandmother (now writing) cherishes to the extreme. It’s difficult to find a way to storm someone else’s blog and write one’s own post, so here is the next best thing. It is September 13 and therefore Jon’s “official” birthday. He was born, however in Heidelberg at 4:36 a.m., which means his actual birthday in this time zone was late last night. In the four plus decades since then, like the children he writes about, he has engendered the full spectrum of emotions: laughter, love, fright, infuriation, awe and oh no!
When you get to be more than six decades old, you begin to look back and search for what, if anything, you’ve done well. I never felt as if I “did” my sons; just tried to stay out of their way while they “became.” Hat’s off to Jon on his birthday for remaining a son and becoming a man, husband and father I admire as much as I love.
